Outside

Saskia Buschner

good morning Kat,
happy birthday. <3

unfortunately, the surprise wasn’t ready in time (you would now say: as usual…).
your chronoflores have blossomed on schedule – all red in front of our window. Mac said that Flo’s always bloom a week early now. I said that some just age faster 😉 I wanted to bring in a twig, but can’t get down far enough with the glidechair. don’t want to send Meo out. since Meo fell over outside a few weeks ago, I only let it out to the heliport.
yesterday I thought about the fact that together we would add up to 220 years old.
and about our last big party. on the floater.
I miss you.

hello Kat,
it got late last night.
Mac, Lee, Sun and the others met up with me at the club. we sang ‘love rider’ – I hope you could hear it wherever your soul is now. the connection was semi. Lee was off in between and Sun had someone walking through the holo all the time. still it was nice. Bil is in immune training and only beamed in briefly. looked pretty worn out.
PT Lou will come in holo later and wants to test Meo’s new haptomodule. Meo will then be able to treat my cervical spine. PT Lou says my motion results are currently stable, maybe I’m in a restitution phase.
and I still have to organise the surprise!
I love you.

hello Kat,
it’s close to dawn and I can’t sleep any more.
there will be no surprise.
I had ordered a savannahcat, a newer version that has stable vital signs up to 50 degrees. EvoGenics checked everything – the climate data, my ablereport, Meo’s error history, the condition of the heliport and when our climacocone was last serviced.
the result came yesterday… negative. the minimum conditions for keeping a savannahcat are not met. they also sent a list of possible genimals and what would need to be adapted.
no chance.
I have to think of Milly, how she used to lie between us, how she purred, how soft her fur was.
I think I’m not getting up today.

hello Kat,
Doc Sue reached out. my immune data is great and it’s time for my immune training. fits in perfectly with my mood. wanted to stay in bed anyway.
moving to the sharehome was raised again.
I know Doc Sue really means well, but I don’t want to leave here. I just… want to open my eyes in the morning and see your chronoflores, and behind them the solar cedars we planted together. a hologram is no substitute… it just doesn’t FEEL the same.
I couldn’t take Meo with me either, they have their own carebots there.
sorry for my bad mood.
I miss you so much.

hello Kat,
oh no, what kind of cocktail is that? or has Doc Sue mixed up the immune data?
I’m sick as a dog. Doc Sue has checked my peptidots and will send something by helicopter later.
Fyn fluxed a haptogram. it was very soft and vibrated.
lovely.
I guess Fyn has programmed it.
I miss Milly.

hello Kat,
I’m slowly getting better. at least I’m hungry again. Meo had to throw the last rations straight into the recycling bin.
PT Lou came earlier in holo. the haptomodule works really well. with the new update, PT Lou can use my parameters synchronously to adjust the stretch exercises.
this probably also means that in future PT Lou will only see me in holo.
that’s how it goes.

hello Kat,
it’s raining!
I woke up from the noise and didn’t realise what it was at first.
it’s incredible how loud it is.
everything looks very blurred outside.
catch you soon.

hello Kat,

Meo found a snail at the heliport this morning. a snail! I haven’t seen one for 25 years. reported the find straight away. hope they don’t close the heliport.
pity Meo didn’t bring the snail in. would have liked to put it on my hand.
OT Jo is coming tomorrow. in person! guess my occupation score is really bad.
I have to instruct Meo to get the chair out!
`til tomorrow

hello Kat,
oh man. I am completely drained.
I’d forgotten how exhausting it is when you have a VISIT!
OT Jo was here for at least 2 hours.
we talked a lot at first. it’s true, I’ve been hanging around a lot lately. now and then I go to the holo club, play a bit of chess with Meo, look out of the window…
OT Jo wanted to know why I don’t glide out anymore. says even in inferis it’s safe for me outside at 40 degrees and under 15 minutes.
and what I’d like to do all day.
I don’t know, guess, I need to think about it.
by the way, OT Jo is much smaller in persona than in holo.
good night

hello Kat,
I overslept.
Fyn bugged me yesterday to join them in the jungle. it was quite funny after all. there are a lot of new avatars (but no snails). I think the jungle is based on the new XF code – whatever, all the holos were super clear.
but I couldn’t fall asleep afterwards. was thinking about how the two of us used to dance. sometimes until dawn. and how the grass felt under my feet when we walked home.
I miss you.

hello Kat,
I told OT Jo that I would like to take care of a cat (so much!).
OT Jo then checked everything, the data and so on. a lot of it is obviously not up to date. so everything was rescanned, including the selfcare garden and the old shed at the back (which I had completely forgotten about).
<3

hello Kat,
I’m so excited.
OT Jo and CA Pau will come later. CA – ClimateArchitect… don’t know what that is either. seems to be like a TerraFormer, only for houses and gardens.
`til later

hello Kat,
the appointment has been postponed.
the pyro winds were too strong, they couldn’t uncouple the duplex and had to fly on to cityport.
maybe tomorrow.

@hello Kat,
I don’t know where to start. my head is still spinning.
a little fencat will be moving in soon! it’s a hybrid of a desert fox and a savannahcat. when the pyro winds are too strong, they lie down in a hollow and are protected by their fine fur.

CA Pau had already made a plan for plants in the self-care garden and climbing facilities in the house. and OT Jo had vetcare modules for Meo, from feeding to cattoilet – everything was included.
I definitely want to do the grooming myself. OT Jo practised with me straight away. if Meo supports my left arm, I can do it!
I’m so excited!

hello Eat
it’s pretty loud here today. there are two CraftsPeople here – CP Jul and CP (I’ve forgotten). they laugh a lot. I can’t help but laugh with them.
it’s a shame that they’ll soon be finished.
I’ll catch the others up on it later at the club.
<3

hello Kat,
guess who’s lying here next to me!
may I introduce: Tiger! I wish you could see it! very fluffy fur with little spots and huge ears.
we were playing earlier. Tiger is crazy about the little toy ball. I can control it well, just have to be careful that it doesn’t get stuck somewhere.
now Tiger is waking up!

hello Kat,
it’s already late and Tiger is out and about again. I can see on the monitor that it has run up to the old road. hopefully Tiger will find its way back home.
was Milly also out at night?
I can’t remember, it’s been too long.

hello Kat,
Tiger slept through half the day. it must have been exciting last night.
but now it’s on the move again, doing something at the back of the shed.
what is it doing there for so long?
I’d really like to have a look.

hello Kat,

I was out with OT Joe today.
first just as far as the heliport and then to the shed, where the little bench used to be.
it was incredibly bright. there was a certain smell everywhere. I can’t remember. something summery, nice.
and I saw two flies.
Tiger was sneaking around in the garden. we could see its ears peeking out from the feather grass.
beautiful.

hello Kat,
Tiger is out and about again.
the umbris evenings are now cool enough for me to stay out a little longer.
it’s very quiet, hardly any helis in the sky. but an stunning number of stars.
new AridoPines have been planted up on the slope.
good night

Kat,
can you remember the barberry bush? it’s still down by the old creek bed. I picked some. they taste as they did in the old days.
I think someone is living behind the former railway station again. heard voices last week and a little later a duplex took off.
maybe I’ll slide over there.
that’s about 800 metres if I take the old road.
I think I can get it done.
